This policy explains what information Guns & Goods collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. It covers gunsandgoods.com and orders placed there.
Effective date: the day the store opens to the public.
What we collect
- What you give us: your name, email address, phone number, billing address, your orders and anything you write to us. We ship only to the billing address on the card.
- Identity checks: an order of $300.00 or more, or one flagged by our fraud checks, may require a photo of the front of your government ID; a selfie is optional. Our staff review the images. We keep the verification result, the name on the ID and the billing address checked. The images are re-encoded, encrypted and stored in our private cloud storage. We keep them while your account exists; a guest’s images stay with the order. You can ask us to delete them at any time, and we delete them when you delete your account.
- Payment: card payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Firearm transfers: for a firearm order, the dealer (FFL) you choose. The background check and ATF Form 4473 are completed and kept at that dealer.
- Automatically: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and when, collected by our servers and our security provider to stop fraud and attacks, and the cookies that keep your cart and your login working.
How we use it
To process, ship and support your orders; to check identity and prevent fraud, including card fraud; to answer your messages; to meet legal and tax obligations; and to keep the site secure. We do not use your information for advertising on other sites.
Who we share it with
Only what each needs to run the store:
- Distributors and carriers: your name, shipping address, phone number and the items, so your order can ship and be tracked.
- Service providers: payment processing, encrypted cloud storage, email delivery, hosting and security. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- The dealer you choose for a firearm transfer.
- When the law requires it: to answer a subpoena, court order or other legal process, or to protect against fraud.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Cookies and Do Not Track
We use the cookies needed for the cart, checkout, login and security. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Because we do not track you across other sites, we do not change anything in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal.
How long we keep it
Order, payment and tax records are kept as long as the law requires. Identity images are kept while your account exists; if you checked out as a guest, they stay with the order until you ask us to delete them. We also keep the verification result while your account exists or while an order remains open, and afterward as long as the law requires. Messages are kept as long as we need them to support your orders.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, including identity images, by emailing [email protected]. We delete identity images when you delete your account or ask us to delete them. We keep other records the law requires us to keep, such as orders, tax records and fraud-prevention records. California residents may have more rights under California law; email us to use them. We will not treat you differently for asking.
Children
The store is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, encryption for stored identity images, restricted access and established service providers. Only the store’s owners can view identity images, through links that expire after a short time; each view is logged. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we also email customers who have an account.
